before i start

this is a rant and is my perspective. this is me talking about how i see usual discord 'partnerships'. who am i to decide how you partner with others?

so basically

you know how some discord servers have a "partnerships" section? 

it's pretty cool when a community, small or big, has partnerships with other communities. it's kind of like achieving peace, cuz you know, the internet can be toxic at times.

you see what the server's partnered with, and they all have these cool aesthetic messages, with banners, invite links, fancy text, blah blah blah. it's cool seeing a board of other servers that have partnered with the one you're in, right?

but what i've noticed

is that i feel like half the time they don't even do anything.

half the time 'partnerships' do the following:

• hey bro can i post [ad] in ur server and i'll post ur [ad] 

• ye sure

• posts ads and calls it a day

and there's no actual meaning / purpose behind it. there's no relationship between the two servers most of the time.

it's just a shameless plugin and nothing else. i don't even feel like either server even talks about each other.

but that's just what i see.

maybe other servers do it differently! maybe i'm just unfortunate enough to see servers like these, where others actually do have a decent partnership system and actually do things! 

idk.

just kinda ticks me off because it reminds me of a petty situation.
